Our story

Our project, CucumberLAB, aims to provide a structured and detailed plan for a university-based communal kitchen and fresh food store. Based on a circular economic principle, these communal hubs will source fresh food from local community projects to sell to students. Students will return food waste, which will be collected and returned to the suppliers for composting. Alongside this will be an open-source, bookable kitchen for students to use and cook together to enable community eating. Cooking workshops and menu cards will be produced focusing on ease, nutrition and low cost.
CucumberLAB aims to function as a holistic hub engaged in promoting healthier food choices, providing sustainable and economically viable food, education and community building.
